Yankees are on their first nine-game skid since Sept. 13-21, 1982 -- the final month of a 79-win season when they employed three managers (Bob Lemon, Gene Michael and Clyde King). New York has been outscored 53-20 and has not held a lead since the second inning of its 11-3 loss in Atlanta on Aug. 14.

Yankees fan?
LOL. Doesn't take a Yankee fan to know they were done weeks/month ago.
I think when the post mortem of the season is written it will say the turning point was Judge hitting the wall in L.A.
Personally I thought it was over when our starting pitching imploded. It was like a Greek tragedy. Cole is the best player on the team, cy young good and the team lets him down time and time again. Severino? He will be shipped and will be contending with Cole for the Cy Young next year on a team that will knock us out of the playoffs. Alcoholic wife beater German might be our number three starter. Cortez, who is blameless for this fiasco re-injured an already bad injury and is a question moving forward. Then there is Rodon. Oops wait don't forget about Montas. He'll be coming back soon to compete with Rodon for most disappointing signing.

Then I think the nail in the coffin was when the whole Rizzo debacle unfolded. He was too good of a hitter to just fall off like that because of age.

But I bet both Cash and Boonie will be at the helm next year.

The Yankees have the 2nd highest payroll in baseball. In the past they've been able to spend and trade their way out of trouble, but now the farm system is lacking and their big contracts are mostly all on the hook for next season. It will be interesting to see how they try to turn it around, but it may be impossible for next season.
